The Journey so far..
Preparing for our new adoption center was no easy task. Our team of volunteers worked tirelessly to obtain detailed blueprints to bring our vision to life, securing building permits to ensure compliance with local regulations, and signing contracts with trusted partners to kick off construction. Each phase requires careful coordination and dedication. Thanks to the efforts of our incredible volunteers, we are making steady progress to construct the building that will soon serve the animals of our community!
Where we are today
We have broken ground and construction is officially under way! We've begun excavation at the site, making way for the foundation of the building that will soon serve the animals of Bedford. Check back for updates as we make progress!
ADOPTION CENTER
The Bedford Humane Society is a 501c3 nonprofit organization founded in 1994 and dedicated to eliminating the overpopulation of cats and dogs in Bedford County, Virginia. Our programs include low-cost spay/neuter, trap/neuter/release of feral cats, humane education and companion animal adoptions through our network of loving foster homes. We are funded entirely through donations by private citizens and grants from private foundations.
We are raising funds to build a brand new shelter to house dogs and cats that have come to the Society for adoption. The design process is underway and we eagerly await construction. Please partner with us through a donation of any amount to help make this dream a reality and save as many animals as possible in Bedford County.
